Welcome to Packsaddle Road Woodworks.  Owners Jim and Sue Berkenfield share a passion for fine woodworking and unique hand made crafts.  With over 30 years of combined experience, including tenures in San Francisco and Boston, the Berkenfields now operate out of a beautiful, state-of-the art furniture shop located alongside their homestead in Tetonia, Idaho on the Western side of the Grand Teton Range.   Here, inspiration is as close as a walk down Packsaddle Road. We feel grateful for every day we get to work and play together in this little slice of paradise.

If you have imagined a custom piece of furniture, the Berkenfields can help you refine the design, and fabricate it just for you (we ship to the lower 48 states).  Please email to discuss this process in greater detail.  In addition to their award-winning, high-end commission work (3-time People's Choice Award Winners at the Western Design Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming), Jim and Sue are now launching a new product line, inspired by items they have been making and enjoying in their home for years.  The first of these is a series of fine, domestic hardwood cutting boards. Each one is hand made, therefore unique, and features an inlaid end-grain detail specific to that board.  We have never seen boards like this before, and are really excited by the design.  Each is hand rubbed with a durable, food-safe low-luster finish, and branded on the edge with our logo.  Feel free to oil frequently, and your Packsaddle Road original should last for years to come.  Please email us for a list and photos of our current inventory.
